YSRCP MLA and former minister Balineni Srinivasula Reddy has made it clear that he will contest from Ongole constituency in the next elections.

Talking to the media here on Tuesday, he said that Srinivasula Reddy would contest for the Lok Sabha from Ongole constituency as he would contest to the Assembly. He dismissed speculations on his political future and doubts about contesting in elections from Ongole.

“Do not trust rumours and speculative stories. There will be no major changes in the YSRCP in the district,” he clarified.

Balineni made it clear that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy said that he was working slowly on the Gadapa Gadapaku programme. “I explained to the Chief Minister that since he is visiting every house during the Gadapa Gadapaku programme, the programme is going slowly in the district,” he stated, adding that he did not want to hold the programme formally and wanted to know the problems of people patiently.

Balineni also dared to quit politics, if the corruption allegation on the lands is proved. He struck down the allegations against him that he indulged in corruption in purchasing land for the distribution of houseless poor.

Balineni said that all are ready to distribute 25,000 house sites to the beneficiaries in the district. However, the TDP filed cases in the court but steps were taken to overcome the court litigations. He said that 200 acres of land were purchased by spending Rs 500 crore for the distribution of house sites to 25,000 beneficiaries.

Balineni alleged that massive corruption took place during the erstwhile TDP government in the construction of TIDCO houses.
