A teenage boy and a girl committed suicide by hanging themselves to a tree at the Bhakarapet forest check-post area on Peleru road on Sunday as their parents rejected their love.
Police said that Yugandhar (17) and Kalyani (15) had been in love for a couple of years. They were studying second-year intermediate at MCV junior college in Punganur. Their parents rejected their proposal for marriage.
Frustrated with this, they ended their lives by hanging themselves to a branch of a tree. The police registered a case and shifted the bodies to the GGH for postmortem.
