MLC Patnam Mahender Reddy will join the State Cabinet on Thursday. Sources said that he will be sworn in on Thursday at around 3 pm at the Raj Bhavan.
Revealing this Chevella MP Ranjith Reddy said, “Dr.Patnam Mahender Reddy will be sworn in as a Minister on Thursday at Three o’ clock in the afternoon. Heartfelt congratulations ” The Raj Bhavan gave the nod to the oath-taking ceremony.
The CM, who recently announced the list of BRS candidates, decided to give the Tandoor ticket to Pilot Rohit Reddy. Patnam Mahender Reddy, who is a senior leader in the same constituency, was given an assurance regarding his future and it was decided to take him into the Cabinet.
The CM took the unexpected decision as Patnam was preparing to join the Congress. In the 2018 election, Patnam lost to Congress candidate Pilot Rohit Reddy. Later, he was selected as an MLC. He was preparing to join the Congress as he was unhappy at the BRS ignoring him and as he had worked for the BRS from the very beginning.
KCR decided to fill the vacant ministerial post of Eatala in the Cabinet with him. BRS sources said that if Patnam is included in the Cabinet Tummala Nageswara Rao and Gampa Govardhan are also likely to be given minister posts if the BRS wins the next election.
