Health Minister T Harish Rao on Friday said that Rs 1,98, 50,000 were sanctioned for six temples in Siddipet Assembly constituency to restore past glory to them.
Disclosing this to media here, he called Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao a visionary in religious matters and maintained that the government has been striving for development of many temples.
Having developed at least 50 temples in the constituency, development funds have been sanctioned for another six, he declared. The temples to be benefited are the ancient Siva temple in Salendri village (Rs 50 lakh), Vithaleswara Swamy templein Vithalapur village (Rs 42 lakh), Sri Bugga Rajeswara Swamy temple in Narayanaraopeta (Rs 39 lakh), Goddess Peddamma temple in Siddipet (Rs 30 lakh), Goddess Peddamma temple in Irukode village at Hanumanthupalli (Rs 20 lakh) and Sri Mahankali temple in Mittapalli village of Siddipet urban mandal (Rs 17.50 lakh).
Tenders will be called for execution of the works soon, he declared.
