In a heartbreaking incident, four members of a family hailing from the State met a devastating end in a fire-related accident in Kuwait. The victims have been identified as Ghouse Basha (35), Tabarak Sarwar (31), and their two young sons, Ehan (4) and Dameel (2).

The tragic incident unfolded when their vehicle collided with a truck, resulting in their untimely demise. Basha, originally from Madanapalle in the Annamayya district, had later relocated to Bangalore. The family had embarked on a spiritual journey to Saudi Arabia, and the calamity struck as they were on their way back to Kuwait.

M. Venkata Ramana Reddy, a senior official from the Andhra Pradesh Non-resident Telugu Society, revealed that approximately ten days prior to the accident, Basha, along with his wife and two children, had embarked on a pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, in their car.

After completing their prayers, the family was en route to their home in Kuwait when the tragic collision occurred on the Hafna-Tuwakh road, approximately 120 km away from Riyadh. The collision led to a devastating fire that engulfed their vehicle.

The bodies have been transported to Rumah General Hospital, and the necessary legal procedures are pending completion. It has been reported that Basha’s parents, upon receiving news of this tragic event, were admitted to a hospital in Bengaluru due to the shock and grief.

Ramana Reddy further conveyed the challenges in identifying the victims due to the extensive damage caused by the fire, which consumed most of their belongings, including their travel documents. The Andhra Pradesh Non-resident Telugu Society is working in close coordination with the Indian Embassy in Riyadh to facilitate the repatriation of the deceased family members’ remains.
