The police seized a huge quantity of 550 kg of cannabis while being transported illegally and arrested five persons at Motugudem village in Chittoor mandal in ASR district on Monday.
Talking to the media ASP Rahul Meena said that on a tip-off the police conducted checking of vehicles near Motugudem police station. The police found 550 kg of ganja was being transported in a van. The ganja was being taken to Narayanakhed in Telangana state.
The police seized 550 kg of ganja worth about Rs 27.50 lakh. The arrested persons were produced before the Rampachodavaram court.
