Making it clear that the party will announce the names of its candidates as soon as possible, Telangana Congress in-charge Manikrao Thakre said that the high command would take a final decision on alliances.

He said that discussions would be held with Left parties in the presence of TPCC President Revanth Reddy and CLP leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka and that the meeting with the CPI was unofficial and that they did not discuss tie-ups or seat sharing.

He said the discussions held with the CPI were preliminary ones.

Thakre had a chit-chat with journalists on Monday at the Gandhi Bhavan. He said that discussions will be held under the supervision of the TPCC President and that the high command did not direct him to hold talks with the Left directly. He said that several parties are coming forward to support the Congress and that MRPS founder President Manda Krishna Madiga and BC Welfare Association founder President R. Krishnaiah and other leaders had met him.

Thakre said that he would not do anything if Manda Krishna Madiga or R. Krishnaiah spoke as they liked. He made it clear that he held discussions with the Left and R. Krishnaiah only after informing Revanth Reddy and Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka.

He said that the discussions with YSRTP Chief YS Sharmila are not taking place at the state level. The high command is looking after the Sharmila issue.

He said that the BJP, KCR, Kavitha, KTR and Harish Rao have been travelling in the BRS ‘car’ in Telangana and that the graph of the BRS has been falling in Telangana.

He said the Congress will give guarantee cards regarding its assurances to the people. He made it clear that the party will give two tickets to BCs in every Parliament constituency and that the party will announce three more declarations soon.
