BRS legislator Marri Janardhan Reddy has appealed to villagers to lend their support to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao to ensure the continuation of welfare schemes.
In connection with completing 10 years in politics, the MLA, who launched Pada Yatra in the constituency three days ago, visited villages, such as Vattipalli Thanda, Vattipalli, Pedduru and covered 15 km on foot in Telakapalli mandal on Tuesday.
In Vattipalli, the MLA inaugurated Rytu Vedika, a bus station, high mast lights and other development programmes.
On the way to Vattipalli from Alair, the MLA worked in the paddy field along with agriculture workers.
Along the route of his padayatra, he inspected the sheep units distributed to the shepherd community and fish ponds developed by the farmers.
He interacted with the farmers and farmworkers and enquired them about their problems. In erstwhile Andhra Pradesh, several villagers were bereft of power and drinking water. Now the villages witnessed tremendous development, he said. The government built a road network to villages, he said.
“Supporting the Congress would mean asking for trouble again,” he said, adding that the Congress has at least 30 CM candidates. However, the BRS has only one CM candidate, he added. He asked the people whether they would vote for Congress that promised only a three-hour power supply to the farm sector or to the BRS which provides a round-the-clock power supply.
On the promise to give a pension of Rs 4000 per month to widows and senior citizens if the Congress was voted to power, the MLA dared the party to implement the scheme in Cong-ruled States first. He came down heavily on the BJP.
