CM to launch 4th phase ‘Vidya Deevena’ today

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will launch the fourth phase of the Jagananna Vidya Deevena scheme on Wednesday at Madanapalle in Annamayya district and will address a public meeting.

According to the officials, CM Jagan Mohan Reddy will deposit Rs 694 crores directly in the accounts of students’ mothers by pressing a button in Madanapalle for July – September 2022 to 11.02 lakh students.

The officials stated that the previous government put Rs 1778 crores as arrears from the year 2017 due to the partial fee reimbursement. At present, Jagan government cleared all the pending dues and so far the total assistance of Jagan government under ‘Jagananna Vidya Deevena’ and ‘Jagananna Vasati Deevena’ is Rs 12,401 crore.

The officials said that Jagan’s government through ‘Jagananna Vidya Deevena’ scheme has been directly depositing the full fees payable to the colleges by the poor students studying ITI, polytechnic, degree, engineering, medicine and other courses in the accounts of the mothers of the students regularly after the end of that quarter with the lofty goal of making the poor students also pursue higher studies.

They said that under ‘Vasati Deevena’, ITI students are getting Rs 10,000 in two installments every year without having to worry about food and lodging expenses for poor students pursuing higher education. The polytechnic students are getting Rs 15,000 and students of degree, engineering, medicine and other courses are receiving Rs. 20,000 financial aid.
