As many as 15 shops were destroyed in a major fire accident that took place in the Lalithambika shopping complex at hill shrine Srisailam on the night of Wednesday.
Official sources said that a fire broke out in a shop at the Lalithambika shopping complex around 2 a.m. and the flames spread to all shops within minutes. As many as 15 shops in the ‘L’ block were completely destroyed in the fire.
As per the preliminary estimation, goods worth over Rs 1.5 crore were destroyed in the fire accident. Fire tenders rushed there to extinguish the flames.
Electric Short Circuit was suspected to be the reason for the fire mishap of which 15 shops were gutted. There are 220 shops in the shopping complex. Srisailam Temple Executive Officer Lavanna visited the destroyed shops.
