With no signs of implementing a scheme to give unemployment allowance and in view of issues surrounding leaks of TSPSC papers, BRS leaders are now banking on job melas to pacify unemployed voters.

Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao recently said that the proposed unemployment allowance couldnot be given due to demonetisation and Covid. He was non-committal on the issue.

This apart, the TSPSC job notifications,though bandied about as a big deal of BRS, turned out to be a setback after the paper leakage issue. Now TSPSC job notifications are embroiled in court cases. Youth being important voters, Ministers and MLAs are therefore conducting job melas in their respective constituencies in their individual capacity.Minister Vemula Prashanth Reddy held a Job mela in the Balkonda constituency on Tuesday,at which 4,300 people attended the interview and1,236 people were selected for jobs.Of these, 751 people received appointment letters there and the remaining 485 people will receive their offer letter from the respective companies in Hyderabad in two days.

On Tuesday, State Panchayat Raj Minister Errabelli Dayakar Rao announced that a Mega job mela is being organized in Thorrurtown of the Palakurti Constituency in Mahabubabad District on 20September. MLC Kavitha conducted two Job melas in the Nizamabad constituency. On 30August, a total of 41 companies participated in the Job mela in Nizamabad and got opportunities. In July, MLC Kavitha organised a Job mela in Nizamabad through the Telangana Academy of Skills and Task. One of the successful job melas held in Hyderabad was by Quthbullapur MLA K.P. Vivekanand in May and which is now spreading across all majority constituencies. Job melas were held in the Cantonment area as well by BRS aspirants.

Minister Srinivas Goud organised a Mega job mela at Shilparamam in Mahbubnagar on September3, wherein 105 companies participated and offered 10,000 jobs on a single day.

On June14, under Minister Harish Rao’s constituency, 15 IT companiesparticipated in the Mega job mela in Siddipet on Tuesday. In all, 750 software professionals from the district were recruited.
