Two fishermen go missing after boat capsize at sea

Two fishermen went missing after a fishing boat capsized in the sea at the NTR beach near here on Monday.
Police said that five fishermen ventured into the sea on a fiber boat from Vakalapudi for fishing. Due to heavy winds and giant waves the fiber boat capsized in the sea. Two fishermen went missing while three swam ashore safely.
The missing fishermen were identified as Garikina Sattiraju of Suryapet and Mailapalli Krishnadas of Dammulapet village. The family members of the missing fishermen appealed to the officials to take steps to trace the missing fishermen. Under the influence of upper air circulation in the Bay of Bengal the sea is very rough, officials said.
The fishermen’s union leaders said that World Fishers Day was celebrated on November 21 and on the same day two fishermen went missing after their boat capsized in the sea. Moreover, one day before World Fishers Day 40 fishing boats were gutted in the fishing harbor in Visakhapatnam doing away with the livelihood of some families of fishermen.
