150 litres of jaggery wash destroyed

The police conducted a cordon and search operation at Ram Nagar near Chirala on Saturday and destroyed 150 litres of jaggery wash meant to distill country-made liquor and seized four litres of illicit liquor.
The Police and Chirala SEB personnel jointly conducted a cordon and search operation at Ram Nagar in which they destroyed 150 litres of jaggery wash and seized 4 litres of country-made liquor, four auto rickshaws, and eight two-wheelers.
Police said that on the direction of district SP Vakul Jindal, 70 police personal led by DSP T Vidyasri, Inspectors G Somasekhar, P Seshagiri Rao, SEB Inspector Somaiah conducted a cordon and search operation at Ram Nagar near Chirala under the Two town police station limits.
The aim of conducting a cordon and search operation is to send a message to the anti-socials, who are involved in selling and transporting ganja and brewing country-made liquor in the district, Inspector Somasekhar said. He warned of invoking the PD Act against the repeated offenders.
