In a remarkable achievement under Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s leadership, the poverty rate in Andhra Pradesh has seen a remarkable decline from 12% to 5% in just four years, according to the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).
As part of its ongoing Samajika Sadhikara bus yatra campaign, the ruling YSRCP continued its commitment to social welfare development and inclusive governance. On the 21st day of the campaign, Social Empowerment bus yatras were conducted in the Pendurthi constituency in Anakapalli district (North Zone) and Tuni constituency in Kakinada district (South Zone), drawing large crowds of enthusiastic supporters.
Leaders from Backward Classes (BC), Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and Minority communities actively participated in the bus yatras, underscoring the YSRCP government’s dedication to the economic upliftment and social and political empowerment of marginalized communities.
North Zone
Addressing supporters in Pendurthi, Deputy Chief Minister Budi Mutyala Naidu highlighted the significant transformation of government schools under CM Jagan’s leadership. He praised the Mana Badi Nadu-Nedu scheme, which aims to revamp government schools, bringing them on par with corporate schools through the introduction of modern facilities and teaching methods.
Accusing former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu of deceiving farmers and women, Deputy Chief Minister Naidu emphasized CM Jagan’s commitment to fulfilling manifesto promises, including the waiver of loans and a progressive increase in social security pensions for the elderly.
Expressing gratitude for the decision to declare Visakhapatnam as the executive capital, Speaker Tammineni Sitaram credited CM Jagan for attracting global investments to the Uttarandhra (North Andhra) region, foreseeing substantial growth across diverse sectors.
MP Nandigama Suresh drew a sharp contrast between Chandrababu’s regime and CM Jagan’s administration, noting a significant reduction in the poverty rate from 12% to 5% under the current leadership.
Central Zone
In Tuni, Minister Chelluboyina Venugopala Krishna commended CM Jagan for the successful implementation of the Ammavodi scheme, effectively eradicating child labor in the state. He highlighted that CM Jagan’s policies aligned with the vision of his late father, Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy, who pioneered free education through fee reimbursement.
Taking a critical stance on Chandrababu’s 14-year tenure, Minister Krishna stated that the former chief minister had focused solely on the upliftment of a specific community. He cautioned the public against trusting what he referred to as falsehoods embodied in various avatars, including CBN, Pawan Kalyan, Nara Lokesh, Eenadu, TV5, and Balakrishna.
Minister Seediri Appalaraju emphasized the YSRCP government’s significant investments in building ward and village secretariats, bringing governance to the doorsteps of households. He also highlighted the revolutionised education system through reforms in the education sector.
