Postal ballots: Congress gets 62.64% votes

Besides the employees, the aged and physically challenged have exercised their right to vote from the comfort of their homes through the postal ballot.
In the undivided Warangal district, the Congress got a majority in postal ballots in all 12 Assembly seats. In Janagoan and Station Ghanpur Assembly seats won by the BRS, the Congress got a majority in postal ballots.
Dissatisfaction among government employees with regard to award of promotions, transfers, GO 317 implementation, transfers across the zones, delay in advancing GPF loans worked in favour of the Congress.
Besides this, the aged and physically challenged voted for change. Out of the 23,856 postal ballots polled, the Congress got 14,945, while the BRS and the BJP were polled 4,276 and 2,476 respectively.
The Congress polled 62.64% of the postal ballots, whereas the BRS polled 17% of the postal ballots. The BJP got 10.37% of the postal ballots.
Warangal West Congress nominee Nayini Rajender Reddy was polled the maximum of 3,031 postal ballots, followed by Congress nominee for Vardhannapeta KR Nagaraju (1,979) and Congress candidate for Mulugu Sitakka (1,358).
Out of the total postal ballots, 1,445 were declared invalid with Narsampeta constituency accounting for the highest number of invalid postal ballots – 278.  Not voting properly and not affixing the signatures were found to be the reasons for invalidation of the votes.
