Armed Forces Flag Day programme held at Raj Bhavan

Governor S Abdul Nazeer participated as chief guest at the Armed Forces Flag Day programme held at Durbar Hall in Raj Bhavan here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, Governor Abdul Nazeer said that the Armed Forces Flag Day is a special occasion to salute their valour, devotion to duty, and professionalism of the highest order, not only against the external but also the internal threats and made supreme sacrifice at the altar of duty. The Governor saluted the Armed Force personnel of Andhra Pradesh who sacrificed their lives at the altar of duty, and said that the nation owes a debt of gratitude to them. Earlier, Director of Sainik Welfare Brig. V Venkata Reddy, VSM (Retd.) pinned the Armed Forces Flag to the Governor and collected contributions for the Flag Day Fund. Governor Abdul Nazeer felicitated and presented mementoes to Gallantry Award Winners Air Vice Marshal J Rajendra (Athi Visisht Seva Medal), Brigadier CSS Prakash, (Visisht Seva Medal), Sepoy Gorla Surendra (Sena Medal).
Taneti Vanitha, Minister of Home, Disaster Management & Sainik Welfare, Harish Kumar Gupta, Principal Secretary, Home, Officers and staff members of Sainik Welfare department, and Raj Bhavan has also attended the programme.
