BJP State president Daggubati Purandewari has demanded that the State government announce Rs 50,000 crop loss compensation per acre in the Michaung cyclone-affected areas.
Daggubati Purandeshwari along with State General Secretary Garapati Seetharamanjaneya Chaudhary and BJP Kisan Morcha State President Chigurupati Kumar Swamy visited some of the cyclone-affected areas in the Unguturu constituency of Eluru district.
Purandheswari interacted with the farmers at a field at Pulla village in Bhimadolu mandal. She inquired about the details of crop damage from the affected farmers and also saw damaged paddy crops.
Speaking to the media on the occasion, Purandheswari said that the Central government had informed the state government in advance about the Michaung cyclone severity and alerted it. But the state government failed to take steps to mitigate the cyclone effect efficiently, she alleged.
