Medaram Jathara to be a grand affair: Seethakka

Minister for Tribal Welfare Seethakka said that the Medaram Jathra to be held in February 2024 should be organised grandly and all facilities should be provided to the devotees.
The Minister conducted a review with the higher officials at the Tribal Welfare Department office in Hyderabad and gave orders to this effect on Monday. Sanitation, roads, electricity, drinking water availability, bathing arrangements, devotees’ accommodation etc, were discussed with the officials concerned and given appropriate orders.
She said that Koya tribal festival gathering which will be held two months before the fair should be seen to be held during the fair this time so that the devotees will get to know about the cultural splendor of the tribe.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that they will once again send proposals to the Central government and work for the status of a national festival for the Medaram Fair, so that Central funds can be added to the State budget to organise the fair more grandly.
The Minister ordered to speed up the work of the fair by conducting a review with all ITDA officials in Eturunagaram next week. She assured that the tribal welfare department is like her mother and the employees of this department consider her as a sister and can share their problems anytime.
