The week was marked by a series of impactful initiatives aimed at promoting energy conservation and raising awareness among the masses. Banners, posters, stickers, and organized rallies with energy-saving slogans adorned different railway stations and locations within Waltair Division, reflecting a collective commitment to sustainable practices.
Also, an enlightening exhibition was organized, showcasing innovative techniques adopted within the division. Techniques included the Automation of lighting for offices and residences, Solar Energy-based Street Lights, energy-efficient BLDC Fans, Remote Sensing Lighting System, LED Lights, and Inverter Type Air Conditioning systems, all geared towards a greener and energy-conscious future.
In a compelling address, Saurabh Prasad, the Divisional Railway Manager, urged officials to explore innovative ways of harnessing natural forms of energy. He emphasized the abundance of solar and wind energy in nature and stressed the importance of going beyond conventional approaches like solar panels.
“Today, more than ever, we need to embrace alternative solutions. LED lights equipped with timers present a more economical and energy-conserving alternative to traditional methods,” remarked Saurabh Prasad, proposing a broader goal of reducing energy consumption and making optimal use of available resources.
MS.N. Murthy, Senior Divisional Electrical Engineer (General), took the stage, delivering a comprehensive PowerPoint presentation on Energy Conservation. The presentation covered various resources of renewable and non-renewable energy, highlighting cost efficiency, environmentally friendly measures, and various energy-efficient fittings implemented across Waltair Division.
