West Godavari Collector P Prasanthi has directed the officials to convince the beneficiaries to expedite the construction of houses in the urban housing layouts. The Collector conducted a surprise inspection of the Urban Housing layout at Vissakoderu Pampulacheruvu area, near here, on Monday.
She enquired with the officials about the construction of houses by the beneficiaries. The officials explained to her that 3,116 plots were allocated at the layout to the beneficiaries but only 120 beneficiaries had started construction of houses.
She directed the officials to take steps to ensure that the other beneficiaries would also start the construction of houses. Project Director of Housing Department Alluri Venkata Ramaraju, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation S Shiva Rama Krishna, Municipal Engineer P Trinatha Rao and AE Sambasiva Rao, and other officials who accompanied her.
