BRS got Rs 683 crore funding in 2023

The Bharat Rashtra Samithi’s contribution report for 2023 suggests that the party received Rs 529.03 crore from electoral bonds and Rs 154 crore from individual donors. In 2023, the BRS received Rs 683 cr funding, which is among the highest amount received by a regional party in a year. MLA Gangula Kamalakar, MP Vaddiraju Ravi Chandra, ex-Minister Puvvada, Rajapushpa are among biggest donors.
Pertinently, 80 % of the funding came via electoral bonds. As per a report by ADR, BRS received Rs 90 cr or 24.56% of the total donations received by all parties from all five Electoral Trusts. Three other political parties viz. YSR Congress, AAP and INC, received a total of Rs 17.40 cr collectively. Prudent Electoral Trust donated to four political parties, including major parties like BJP, BRS, YSR Congress and AAP. Megha Engg & Infra contributed the highest amount worth Rs 87 cr amongst all donors of the Electoral Trusts, followed by Serum Institute of India Pvt Ltd with Rs 50.25 cr and Arcelor Mittal Nippon Steel India Ltd, which contributed Rs 50 cr to various trusts. In all, 39 Corporate/Business Houses contributed Rs 363.715 cr to Electoral Trusts in FY 2022-23. In all, 34 Corporate/Business Houses contributed Rs 360.46 cr to Prudent Electoral Trust, one company contributed Rs 2 cr to Samaj Electoral Trust, two companies contributed Rs 75.50 lakhs to Paribartan Electoral Trust and two companies contributed Rs 50 lakhs to Triumph Electoral Trust.
