CM to inaugurate Dr Ambedkar statue on Jan 19

State SC Commission Chairman M Victor Prasad has said that the 125-foot-tall statue of Dr BR Ambedkar will stand as a status symbol in the country. Speaking at a press conference in Vijayawada on Saturday, he said that the statue of Ambedkar built at Swarajya Maidan at a cost of Rs.400 crores will be inaugurated on January 19 by Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy. Ambedkar’s statue has been set up by the state government as a symbol of equality of liberty. He wished that everyone from all over the state would come voluntarily irrespective of caste, religion and party to the inauguration ceremony of the Ambedkar statue which is the centre of attraction in Vijayawada.
Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, who is running the administration with Ambedkar’s ideology, has established Ambedkar Smriti Van with all facilities. To attract everyone, Dr BR Ambedkar’s biographical museum, mini theatre, convention centre, sky lighting, fountains, library etc. have been beautifully decorated throughout the premises. He said that the previous government did not take a single step in the construction of the Ambedkar statue. Historically, the YSRCP government has installed the statue of Ambedkar, the world intellectual and the creator of the Indian Constitution.
People’s representatives, employees, workers and everyone should participate in this inauguration event of the statue and make it successful. As part of this, Victor Prasad made it clear that from January 7 to 19, many programmes will be organized in a festive atmosphere in all the districts, in which everyone who respects the constitution should participate.
