Bigg Boss Season 17, undeniably, has brought much more intensity, entertainment, and conflict. Oh, and, of course, a lot more drama. In fact, recently the show witnessed not one or two but four back-to-back evictions, and one among them was Rinku Dhawan. She not only played so well but also maintained her age-mature thought process, making a mark for herself.
Her feelings out of the house to begin with, she enthuses, “It has been definitely nice, and at the same time, I’m missing the house where I stayed for almost 77 days. I don’t know if I can say I wish I stayed longer because I gave my all; the brawls, that sort of manipulation, plotting against each other, using someone’s vulnerable state—all those traits, unfortunately to be in the game, were not there in me to trample over somebody to come up.”
The Lekar Hum Deewana Dil actress surely had her starstruck moments in the show, especially with Salman Khan. Well, she’s had her celebrations while walking ‘in’ the house and also walking ‘out’. Not only has she had to witness being there during the New Year night, but she also got the blessings of the legendary Dharmendra and also Sohail Khan, Arbaaz Khan, Mika Singh, and Hans Raj Hans.
In fact, Bigg Boss has not only been a favourite of the general public but also of celebrities, and one among them is Tiger Shroff. There have been reports claiming that the Heropanti actor had called Rinku a ‘diplomatic person’ and as we asked her about it, she gleefully enthused, “The fact that he even commented on me is really ‘Wow’ because he’s so hot. When diplomacy is concerned, and had I been diplomatic, you would have seen me doing a lot of stuff. When you say you are diplomatic, you are trying to push your stakes up, kisike kan bharake. I don’t think there’s any footage that shows that I’m being diplomatic. If I got angry with somebody, I was angry. If I don’t like someone at the moment, I have been vocal about it.”
She further goes on to call out Isha to make a ‘Rai ka Pahad’ out of everything, be it during the immunity task of Ankita, Sana, and Khanzaadi performing on Mere Dholna for the task or recently for adding tomatoes to poha.
A bond that we’re sure many of us are missing in the house is that of Abhishek and Rinku. Not defining the bond they had shared, but it was no less than that of a gem. Basically, “I started liking Abhishek, I guess, in the first 10 days. I felt that he was cute and an angry young man, but not that he was a bad person. One thing about Abhishek, I’ll tell you, was that he was an aggressive person. Poke bhi karta tha, but he used to never lie. Maybe I can be wrong. I liked the bad lot just as much as I liked the good lot. Nobody would talk to him the way I used to. I’m 47; what do you expect me to do—show my sensibility and sensitivity or behave like a stupid woman at this age? You call Abhishek aggressive and unreasonable. I’m not going to say that I cannot say that the traits of his I cannot see; I’m not blind. But to handle the situation, I have my own way. Abhishek’s aggression being a boy and Khanzaadi’s aggression being a girl, their capacities were very high.”
And again, “At what Rinku Dhawan is at this age, I couldn’t connect with their jokes. They’re kind of fun, but I cannot handle that for more than 30 minutes. These people were a nuisance. It was a very annoying state, and it was getting mentally exhausting for me.”
As we talk of the brawls in the show, she also had a pinch of argument with Samarth Jurel, and the Yeh Vaada Raha actress explains, “I didn’t have any sort of problem with Samarth, ironically. But I just told him one thing, and he just flipped from there. Even during one of the nominations, I told him, Samarth, you don’t listen, and if you don’t listen, how will you understand?”
Again, with all the talk about Abhishek vs. Isha and Samarth, Rinku was clearly not pleased with everything that had happened in the house recently. She does not support Abhishek’s aggressive behaviour or physical violence, nor does she support anyone else in the house, but Rinku was clearly not pleased with everything that had happened in the house recently. “Samarth was constantly connecting his girlfriend with her ex and creating a ‘Mudda’ for himself, poke Abhishek, but don’t forget Isha is your current girlfriend. And it was extremely disrespectful. You were using your girlfriend to poke Abhishek to get instigated and get a ‘mudda’ to fight. Do you know how he used to instigate Abhishek? He used to start kissing and hugging Isha in front of him and used to be like, ‘Jalli na, Jalli na, Jalli na’. You are disrespecting a girl just to create a fight with this guy. I will speak on it with my sensibility. I was, in fact, like, mujhe yeh bachcho ke saath kyu bhejh diya. I felt that, in the initial stage, I’m a misfit here. I even told Isha that you guys are close to each other’s age; the bigger challenge was for me to become one of them. There was a point where I didn’t understand why I was there.”
In fact, Salman Khan too had mentioned in the recent episode that though people had called Rinku to be ‘biased towards Abhishek’, she would surely stand up for what’s right and wrong. And also try to make the housemates understand that there was a whole different level of ‘poking’ happening in the house.

Well, as we head towards the end of our chat, she also highlights things happening with Ankita Lokhande. “Ankita was fake in her expressions and not as a person. After she nominated me, she came up to me and said, ‘I’m scared of you, and I get a ‘Sasuma vibe’. I wondered, why she told me that because we never had a proper one-on-one conversation. How did she even get that vibe because we never spoke even before the show? I didn’t want to low-stock like everybody else does. For me, if I’m talking about a person, I have to be sure about it. I didn’t go on the opinion of the rest, and immediately the following week, after the argument she and Aishwarya had, the next nomination came, and my opening statement to Ankita was, thanks for proving me right.”
