Must read

Virudhanagar MP Manickam Tagore, who is in charge of Congress affairs in Andhra Pradesh, has reiterated that the party will fulfil its promises of granting the Special Category Status to the State, providing a special package for the backward districts in Uttarandhra and Rayalaseema, and completing the Polavaram project. He added that the Congress would fulfil all assurances made during the Andhra Pradesh State bifurcation, when it comes to power at the Centre.
Manickam Tagore was visiting Vijayawada for the first time after being appointed AICC in charge of Andhra Pradesh affairs. APCC president and former MLC Gidugu Rudra
Raju and other party leaders welcomed Tagore at the Gannavaram Airport. Later,
they organised a huge procession from the airport to Andhra Ratna Bhavan in
Vijayawada.
Tagore participated in the APCC executive committee meeting and interacted with leaders of the Mahila Congress, Youth Congress, NSUI, and Seva Dal. Later, he released a
poster of Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra’.
Addressing the media, MP Tagore termed the YSRCP MPs ‘cheer girls’. “They are all working along with the BJP and neglected the bifurcation assurances. Andhra Pradesh State
should be protected by defeating BJP, YSRCP, TDP and JSP.
BJP is ‘Babu, Jagan and Pawan’,” he said. Only 90 days were left for the
polls. The people should support the Congress party to form the government at the
Centre. For that, along with the Congress party, its affiliated units should also work hard, he said.
Congress Working Committee (CWC) member and former minister Dr N Raghuveera Reddy said that Andhra Pradesh would be developed if Rahul Gandhi assumed the Prime Minister
post. He reminded the words of Rahul Gandhi that he would first sign the order granting
Special Category Status to AP.
David Raju, DY Das join Congress During Manickam Tagore’s first visit to Vijayawada, former  MLAs P David Raju from Prakasam district and DY Das from Krishna district joined the Congress at a programme held at the Andhra Ratna Bhavan. Tagore welcomed both the leaders by giving them party scarves. Film producer and builder K Kalyan, Professional Forum leader N Mahesh and others also joined the party in the presence of Tagore.
Party senior leaders JD Seelam, Pallam Raju and others were present on the occasion.
