Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy said that only 615 spouse transfers were carried out by the former BRS government and 1,500 spouse transfers were still pending in January 2023.
Due to the unscientific policies brought out by the previous government, working wives and husbands were thrown to different districts.
According to Memo No. 1655, spouses were transferred in 19 districts where husband and wife were supposed to work in the same district and 13 districts were kept in block. In these 13 districts, the husband is in one district and the wife is in another district, children live in one place, elderly parents live in another. As a result the family system was disturbed.
Despite the couples carrying out dharnas and rallies with their children for two years, the previous government did not relent towards the issue. The couples faced several issues such as being unable to travel hundreds of kilometers, not being able to leave their families at work and suffering from health problems.
