STORY:
The narrative starts with YSR (Mammootty) declaring his son YS Jagan (Jiiva) as the 2009 Kadapa MP contender. What comes next? After the Congress party wins the election, YSR is appointed Prime Minister. The narrative then moves through the death of YSR, Jagan’s Odarpu Yatra, the party high command’s decision to put an end to it, and Jagan’s eventual resignation to his MP post and exit from the party. After that, Jagan creates his own political party and runs his own party with his mother, YS Vijayamma. Consequently, Jagan is accused of CBI cases and is taken into custody. After that, Andhra Pradesh is split into Telangana and Andhra. In the next elections, Chandra Babu (Mahesh Manjrekar) becomes the Chief Minister of the newly established AP. After losing his first election, Jagan becomes the opposition leader and leads a walkathon to learn more about the issues that people are facing. With Jagan winning the 2019 elections and taking on the role of Chief Minister, the film closes on a bright note. Everyone is familiar with the story, but the director’s treatment of it made a big impact.
Artiste performance:
Jiiva embodied the persona of YS Jagan. As YS Jagan, he is fantastic. His performance captivates the crowds. He touched everyone’s heart in the walkathon sequences too. He also did a fantastic job portraying Jagan’s bravery both as a son and as a political figure. Next, Manmootty performed the part of YSR once again. The actress Aasritha Vemuganti fits the part of Vijayamma, the wife of YSR. With their backgrounds, Susanne Bernart, Ketaki Narayan as YS Bharathi, Sachin Khedkar, Subhaleka Sudhakar, and Mahesh Manjrekar as Chandra Babu enable the characters to almost blend into the story so well.
Analysis:
It’s not an easy task to connect with an audience by telling a universally known story in a powerful way. Mahi V. Raghav accepted the challenge and did a fantastic job! We should give him credit for keeping the movie engaging to watch even if we already know what will happen in the end. He elicited an emotional response from the audience for the characters. Basically, the director was successful in creating a sense of sympathy for the main character. While maintaining a strong emotional tone throughout the movie, Mahi provided Jagan’s character with appropriate high points too! The scenes felt more authentic and natural because of the manner he incorporated true footage of YSR’s death and the moment when YS Jagan takes the oath of office as chief minister. Even if they are familiar with the plot, Yatra 2 will provide the audience with an emotional high. As a result, people are relishing and feeling the high points brought about by the excellent conversation and elevations that were strategically placed throughout the movie. Mahi’s technical team also provided him with good support. In order to emotionally connect with the audience, strong technical values are definitely required. Mahi made the ideal choice in hiring skilled experts for this position, namely Madhie and Santosh Narayan! Yatra 2 has excellent technical quality. The film’s central character is Santosh Narayan, whose background score turns into one of its standout moments. Conversations are applaudable. A special mention should go to the art and editing divisions too.
