KALESHWARAM LIFT IRRIGATION SCHEME Cong government resorting to false narrative: Harish

Must read

Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader and former minister T Harish Rao on Friday took the Congress government to task for not releasing water from Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. Instead of coming to the rescue of the farmers, he said that the government has been resorting to false narrative to malign the BRS ahead of Lok Sabha elections.
Addressing a gathering after distributing sewing machines to a large number of women in the constituency, Harish Rao recalled that tanks and check dams were brimming with water last year as the water was released from the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. The groundwater table also increased. During this year, there was no water in tanks and even groundwater depleted. It led to wilting of crops and the borewell went dry, he said.
Harish Rao alleged that the Congress government turned a blind eye to the sufferings of the people. The BRS government had always stood by the farmers and common people and helped them. But, the Congress government, instead of carrying out repairs to Medigadda Barrage, has been making false narrative against the previous government.
He criticised the government for failing to carry out repairs to the Medigadda Barrage and ensure water for crops. The government remained unconcerned though crops were withering away.
The women, who were given sewing machines, underwent training. The beneficiaries expressed their gratitude to the former minister.
