CPI-M state secretary Julakanti Ranga Reddy has demanded that the State government pay a compensation of Rs 25,000 per acre to the farmers who sustained crop loss due to drought-like situation.
Taking part as the chief guest in the party district secretariat meeting here on Wednesday, he said that the government should expedite the procurement of paddy from farmers. Speedy procurement of paddy would help the farmers, he said, demanding payment of Rs 500 bonus per quintal of paddy.
