On Monday, CM Jagan commenced a 41-day-long ‘Sahastra Chandi Yagam’, seeking divine blessings and guidance to secure a second consecutive term in power.Amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns by revered pundits, CM Jagan solemnly undertook the ‘sankalpam’ for the yagam at the Venkatachalampalle night stay point in Nellore district.Although CM Jagan may not be present throughout the entire 41-day duration of the yagam, it will continue in his absence, with his potential participation slated for the concluding day, during the Purnahuti ceremony. The Raja Shyamala Sahastra Chandi Yagam is being orchestrated by AP Tourism Development Corporation chairman Arimanda Varaprasad Reddy in collaboration with YSRCP leader Padamata Suresh Babu, aiming to invoke divine blessings for Jagan’s victory and the continuity of his welfare-focused governance. Leading the yagam are priests Nallapeddi Sivarama Prasada Sarma and Gouravagghula Nagendra Sarma. Notably, Varaprasad Reddy had previously initiated this Sahastra Chandi Yagam in Hyderabad back in 2017, in anticipation of Jagan’s victory in the 2019 elections. The yagam continued uninterrupted for 23 months, concluding in July 2019 following Jagan’s assumption of office. Subsequently, CM Jagan also conducted the ‘Maha Rudra Sahitha Dwi Sahasra Chandi Yagam’ at the Tadepalli camp office in Amaravati, culminating in the auspicious ‘Purnahuti’ ceremony amidst the chanting of Vedic hymns, with the pundits bestowing divine blessings upon the Chief Minister is leaving no stone unturned in his bid to secure another term in office.
