Protection of women is the mission of SHE Teams: CP

Rachakonda Women Safety Wing, under the auspices of SHE Teams, conducted counseling for eve-teasers at Rachakonda camp office, LB Nagar on Tuesday.
SHE Teams caught 122 (majors-79, minors-43) who were harassing women and young girls in Rachakonda Commissionerate. Counselling was conducted for them in the presence of counsellors and their family members.
Rachakonda CP Dr Tarun Joshi said that there is no way that the police of Rachakonda SHE Teams will let go of the hooligans who harass girls and women. He said that they are going around bus stands, railway stations, Metro stations, schools, colleges, vegetable markets and public places in mufti and carrying out SHE Team decoy operations.
“About 148 complaints were received from March 16 to 31,” said Rachakonda Women Safety Wing DCP T Usha Vishwanath. She said that the investigation has been completed after taking up the inquiry on the complaints.
Among the complaints received, 14 cases were booked on harassment through phones, 36 cases booked through social media apps and 98 cases booked on direct harassment.
 With regards to criminal cases-petty cases- 70, and 43 people were counselled.
