Graft rampant in YSRCP govt: Sharmila

APCC president YS Sharmila has targeted YSRCP senior leader and Minister for Energy and Panchayat Raj Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy alleging that corruption is rampant under his direction and he did not do anything for the development of the Rayalaseema region.
Addressing an election meeting attended by a moderate crowd in Pileru on Tuesday, she said that Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy and MP PV Mithun Reddy have sway in the region and they were involved in massive corruption.
She said that they promised to construct cold storage in Pileru and establish a food processing unit but they failed to fulfill the promises. YS Rajasekhar Reddy, when he was the Chief Minister, made farming festive but Naidu and Jagan Reddy made farming as waste.
“The YSRCP government is not extending subsidy to the drip irrigation equipment, it left the farming to lurch and the farmers are bearing the brunt, she lashed out. “The farmers have become debt-ridden during the Jagan Reddy-headed regime. The input subsidy is not being paid,” she lamented.
Recalling that 11 commodities used to be distributed during the YSR regime, now only rice is being given in ration shops in Jagan Reddy’s regime, she lamented. Stating that the government is selling liquor and she questioned whether it is implementing prohibition.
“AP has been stuck in the hands of land mafia, sand mafia and mining mafia. The government ignored development and has kneeled before the BJP leaders at the Centre,” she flayed.
Reiterating that voting for the YSRCP and TDP amounted to voting for the BJP, Sharmila assured of granting Special Category Status to AP, if the Congress was voted to power.  Both the TDP and the YSRCP deceived the people of AP for 10 years, she criticized and asked the voters not to trust the promises of the parties.
Later, addressing a huge election meeting at Madanapalle, she recalled that YSR intended to construct the Handri Neeva project and 90% of the project works had been completed during the tenure of YSR in the combined AP state.
The present YSRCP government failed to complete 10% of the project works, she regretted. The government also promised to establish a tomato processing unit in Madanapalli but that has not been materialized so far, she lambasted.
