The Anti-Corrption Bureau has nabbed three officers, including two electricity department employees and one from the agirulture office.
On May 16, at 12:45 pm, accused Officer B Anil Kumar, Mandal Agricultural Officer, Narsapur mandal, Medak district was caught red handed when he demanded and accepted a bribe amount of Rs 30,000 from the complainant Vanga Naren for showing official favour i.e., to process the application and to forward the same for issuance of trade licence on the name of M/s Shiva Shakti Agro Agencies, Narsapur.
Anil Kumar was arrested and produced before the Addl. Special Judge for SPE and ACB Cases Court at Hyderabad. The case is under investigation. In another case, on May 16, accused officer Nadimpally VenuKumar, artisan (Grade-Il), TSSPDCL, Mallareddipally, Chinthapally, Nalgonda district was caught red-handed when he demanded and accepted a bribe amount of Rs 20,000 from complainant Ravi Suryanaray ana to provide single phase domestic electricity connection to the house and to erect two poles for the purpose of agricultural bore and also to give electricity connection by laying cables.
In another case, on May 16, at 6.20 pm, accused officer Daravath Sharath Kumar, Assistant Engineer, Operation Section Office, TSNPDCL, Aswaraopeta, Bhadradri Kothagudem district, was caught red-handed at Jangareddygudem Road, Aswardopet by the ACB officials when he demanded and accepted an amount of Rs 1,00,000 as bribe from the complainant Konakalla Aditya to process the sanction of new transformer for the complainant’s father’s agricultural land and also to install it. The bribe amount of Rs 1,00,000 was recovered from the possession of the officer at his instance.
