Modi’s agenda is to render social justice

Must read

Is there any substance in allegations being levelled by Rahul Gandhi and his aides that social justice is being denied to the people of the nation? To what extend the people pay attention to these allegations?  Answers to the questions will be out on June 4.
The unsubstantiated allegations over denial of social justice to the people being levelled by Rahul and his team will fell flat with the people, especially at a time when millions of SCs, STs, BCs and Adivasis derive benefit from welfare schemes of the Union government.
The schemes benefit the poorest of the poor to join the national mainstream and achieve economic equality.  When Prime Minister Narendra Modi got the opportunity, he first elevated Ramnath Kovind and subsequently Draupadi Murmu to the office of the President of India, the highest office in the country.
When Mrs Gandhi imposed the draconian Emergency in the country and which saw hundreds shot dead, all parties united behind Jayaprakash Narayan to unleash social revolution. In the opposition struggle, Jan Sangh also played a pivotal role. This development became the main reason for the downfall of the Congress.  Such conditions do not prevail in the country now.
Modi did not unleash repression on the people like Mrs Gandhi. He did not postpone elections by one year and did not enforce Emergency. Government agencies have been taking action against the corruption of the political parties under the BJP regime, but they did not do anything with ordinary people. Millions of voters, from Kashmir to Kanyakumari, have been exercising their right to franchise, demonstrating a democratic spirit. Where is the evidence for the allegation that democracy is being eroded in the nation? How can taking action against the corrupt, anti-social forces, those who are keen to foment trouble in society and those who join hands with foreign powers be described as undemocratic?
Why did the Opposition parties remember social justice and Muslim welfare only at the time of elections? The terminology was the creation of the outdated Left parties. The Left parties, which are wiped out all over the globe, have joined hands with the Congress and imposing their ideology on the Congress. Because of this ideology, Left parties were wiped out from West Bengal and Tripura. In Telangana, the Left parties contested from 17 Assembly seats and received severe drubbing in all seats.
On the other hand, the Congress imbibed Muslim League ideology and has been levelling allegations as if Modi regime did injustice to the Muslims. People from all religions derive benefit under schemes like Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojna, power connections, free LPG cylinder supply, Ayushman Bharat and other schemes. Modi is the first leader to notice that Pasmanda, the community that is regarded as the untouchable among the Muslims, were benefited. He implemented several measures to benefit Ansaris (weaver community), Khureshis, Kunjda (vegetable sellers), tailors, Mansuris (cotton growers) and so on to render them social and economic justice. After the BJP came to power in UP, it appointed a Pasmanda community person as minority welfare minister. In the local body elections held in the nation’s capital, the BJP gave tickets to six Muslims, including four Pasmanda Muslims. The Congress has sided with the Muslims who occupied higher echelons of society, but Modi government has been trying to render justice to Pasmanda Muslims, who are not known to many. That is why Shia Muslims and a large number of Pasmanda Muslims have been supporting the BJP.  Narendra Modi is the first leader to take measures to render justice to Muslim women, who were discriminated against. Today, a large number of Muslim women patronise the BJP because of Modi’s initiative against triple talaq. Either PM Modi or the BJP never tried to convert the Muslims into a vote bank. In fact, no other regime saw communal riots that occurred during the Congress regime. Did anyone come across communal riots in the 10-year rule of Modi? Modi sent the message across the nation that every citizen of the nation would be safe as long as they feel they are Indians first. The BJP corrected historic wrongs, but it did not affect the interests of any section of society. Everyone knows if Congress-led grand alliance INDIA is voted to power, the minority and vote bank politics will come into play and majority Hindus would be in a defensive position.
The Constitution approved caste-based reservations but not religion-based quota. However, successive Congress regimes raked up the quota for the Muslims. Justice Ranganath Misra Commission proposed 15% quota for the Muslims. The UPA regime proposed 4.5% quota for the backward Muslims. Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana governments took measures to provide quota for the Muslims. That is why if the grand alliance of INDIA were to come to power it would change the statute and provide legality to reservations, Modi cautioned people. As long as he is alive, he declared, he would not agree to quota on religious grounds.
Objective of the BJP is to render equal justice to all sections. People of Kashmir enjoy benefits of Modi’s government schemes by virtue of making Kashmir an integral part of India. Another objective of Modi would be to implement Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
