In anticipation of the worldwide theatrical release of Bhaje Vaayu Vegam, lead actor Kartikeya Gummakonda sat down with the media to share insights into the film’s emotional depth and his journey portraying its protagonist. Presented by UV Creations, and produced under the banner of UV Concepts, Bhaje Vaayu Vegam is directed by Prashant Reddy, featuring Iswarya Menon alongside Kartikeya.
Reflecting on his decision to take on the role, Kartikeya remarked: “Prashanth Reddy narrated the script of Bhaje Vaayu Vegam to me during the lockdown and the emotional resonance of the story struck a chord with me instantly. Despite initially commencing another project, I was drawn back to this film due to its compelling narrative. We took our time with production to ensure we delivered the best possible version to our audience, hence the noticeable change in my appearance throughout the film.” Kartikeya emphasised the film’s thematic relevance to his current image as an actor: “Bhaje Vaayu Vegam aligns perfectly with my evolving persona as an actor. I believe a hero should embody relatable qualities and confront challenges in an inspiring manner. This film offers a blend of heroism, action, sentiment, and emotion, which resonates deeply with me. While it may not feature the same intensity of action as Khaidhi, its emotional drive and gripping storyline captivated me from the start.”
Regarding the film’s musical elements, Kartikeya shed light on the strategic integration of songs within the narrative: “Bhaje Vaayu Vegam deviates from the conventional approach to song placement in cinema. Instead of disrupting the flow of the narrative, each song serves to advance the story organically. While one particular song from the film has garnered attention, our focus remains on seamlessly integrating music to enhance the overall storytelling experience.”
