Woman kills husband with help of paramour, body exhumed

In a shocking incident, a woman killed her husband with the help of her paramour and buried the body in Vemulapalli village in Lingapalem mandal.
Chintalapudi Circle Inspector Sudhakar told the media that the deceased Chuttamala Aaserwadam (34) was working as a JCB operator.
His wife Sumalata had developed an illegal relationship with Nagaraju who belonged to the same village. As Sumalata’s husband Aseerwadam had become a hurdle for her illicit relationship, she planned to kill her husband.
On June 1, 2024, she mixed sleeping pills in the water and gave it to her husband. He drank the water and fell into sound sleep. Then Sumalata called her paramour Nagaraju and both killed Aaserwadam by strangling him.
On the next day, Sumalata convinced all her relatives and her husband’s relatives that he committed suicide and performed the last rites and the body was buried.
However, the father of the deceased Aaserwadam doubted the death of his son. He complained to the police. During the interrogation, Sumalatha confessed that she killed her husband with the help of her paramour. The police exhumed the body sent for postmortem and arrested the accused Sumalata. Another accused Nagaraju is absconding.
