Roads and Building Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy has assured the farmers that irrigation facility would be provided to at least 65,000 acres by filling the Brahmana Vellamla project reservoir with water in three or four months.
He, along with Collector Dasari Hari Chandana and Nakrekal MLA Vemula Veeresam and engineering officials inspected the Brahmana Vellamla reservoir, which is a part of the AMR project, in Brahamana Vellamla on Friday.
Later speaking to media, the Minister alleged that the previous BRS regime failed to take steps to complete the Brahmana Vellamla reservoir. However, the Congress regime that succeeded the BRS in Telangana took a firm decision to complete the reservoir.
Therefore, the government will provide irrigation facility to 65,000 acres to one lakh acres by completing the reservoir by December.
By cleansing of the Musi River, Nalgonda district would be rendered fluoride-free district on a permanent basis. The Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is firm on the project, he said, adding that the CM was committed to cleansing Musi River at a cost of Rs 40,000 crore.
In six months, a sewerage treatment plant would be set up in six months to develop Musi as clean river.
