Medak MP-elect M Raghunandan Rao on Tuesday demanded that disciplinary action be taken against the policemen for their laxity in taking action when a clash broke out between two communities in Medak a few days ago.
Raghunandan Rao told reporters, after visiting the sub-jail to talk to the BJP activists who were arrested in connection with violent incidents that the police did not act fairly and protect the public interests. The police failed to take action against those who abused a policewoman.
He further said that some policemen were already behind bars because they had resorted to tapping phones at the instance of their masters. The policemen, who showed laxity in duty, would also face similar consequences, he warned.
He demanded that the police explain why they had allowed a person, who was injured in a clash between two communities on Sunday, was allowed to go to a private hospital.
