Anil Kapoor has almost forty years of experience in the film industry and has received numerous awards for his highly regarded roles. The seasoned actor recently took over his friend’s (Salman Khan) role as host of the upcoming season of Bigg Boss OTT.
In this third season of Bigg Boss OTT, the Nayak star, who took Salman Khan’s place, stated, “We both spoke to each other, and if I’m happy, he’s much happier for me. He even assured me that we would deal with anyone who acts disrespectfully or out of line together. We’ll do everything jointly now that he used to do it alone.”
Following his recent stint on the OTT platform The Night Manager, the multi-talented actor abruptly transitioned into reality television. The Animal star gave his explanation, saying, “I think it’s a great opportunity, and something that I’ve never done. I thus took hold of it with both hands.” When he initially asked, “Why me?” They kindly replied that they did want him to present this season of the much-anticipated OTT release. Who better to host one of the most surprising shows than ‘Majnu Bhai’?”
Recalling his family’s response to the sudden announcement of his new endeavour, the Welcome fame said, “Surprisingly quite positive! Sonam, Rhea and everyone else were encouraging. They said, ‘Go get it!’” The father of three is apparently poised to make an impression on the public when he presents the upcoming third season, especially with such a supportive family behind him.
Adding his own unique touch to the show, the Academy Award-winning actor stated, “It happens automatically,” in contrast to the regular host. “I could never have been Hugh Laurie in The Night Manager or Kiefer Sutherland in 24. Our speech, gait, manner of working and behaviour are all changed.” Among the movies he is well-known for are Tezaab, Ram Lakhan, Beta, Virasat, Taal and Slumdog Millionaire, for which he won honours at the national level!
On the Zoom call, he also talks to us about making fair decisions, saying, “I’ll be firm but fair. I am aware that everyone has imperfections. People make blunders in high-pressure or stressful situations.” His position seems to be pertinent to the season and the competitors. It promises to be thrilling! Love, tears, drama and emotion will all be present. The Dil Dhadakne Do star continued, “Being in the Bigg Boss house is quite a tough thing.”
He adds that the show’s live nature is what makes it thrilling. Because the hosting is seen live, audience comments are typically provided immediately. While the majority of viewer responses on social media are positive, some negative ones may also exist. When asked how he would respond to the criticism, he said in a courteous way, “I won’t say that I won’t be affected at all. I’m not going to take it seriously, though. To determine what is good and bad, I would come to my own conclusions and make my own decisions. I promise to be impartial and firm without showing any bias.”
The setting of the show is said to be complex and full of intrigue. As a result, the host must be resolute and strong. He counsels staying loyal to both the audience and himself, saying, “You have to be honest. You are not able to deceive yourself. That is difficult, in my opinion, given the overall mood. I just need to be myself and do it with grace. It’s the most amazing triumph one could hope for.”
Nowadays, there are several difficulties involved in live-hosting a reality show, especially the interactions that occur on the show! In an effort to maintain decorum, the host may need to step in if things go out of control. The seasoned actor tells us what he finds difficult, saying, “I think the hardest part is getting to know so many different people from all various backgrounds. It will be difficult to be fair and firm with them, to show empathy for them and to have to discipline them at the same time. Since all of these tasks are difficult, you must draw on all of your life’s experiences. When I did movies and TV shows, like 24 and The Night Manager, they were all huge challenges. Going to America and staying there for six months to complete 24 was a huge task.”
Speaking on the reality show’s purportedly contentious past seasons and what viewers should take away, the No Entry star said, “It is impossible to satisfy everyone. There are going to be others who are not happy. You must give it your all, let the audience make the final decision and go on with your life. I will carry that out.”
The resilient actor has undoubtedly gained a great deal of information and experience from his decades-long involvement in the industry. He describes how they will be used in hosting the season. “I can relate to the individuals involved. I was much more privileged as the host when I did Slumdog Millionaire. However, since I have experienced that myself, I could relate to the contestants as well.” Furthermore, he said, “I don’t believe any contender has experienced what I have. I believe that I may have experienced something marginally more difficult than what others have. As a result, I will be able to comprehend them, relate to them to some level and make the required call.”
Without its incredible Bigg Boss voice, the show wouldn’t be the same! “I have seen a few Big Boss episodes, but the latest BB voice, I just love it!” said the actor on this season’s BB voice. He continued, “Whenever I hear it, it has a certain sense of power and dignity.” And with that, the exclusive conversation with The Pioneer concluded with “AK,” as he is fondly called.
