MAA takes firm stance against YouTuber’s offensive comments!

Must read

The film industry is taking decisive action against YouTuber Praneet Hanuman following his offensive remarks about a father-daughter relationship on social media. Manchu Vishnu, President of the Movie Artistes Association (MAA), has publicly condemned the incident, underscoring the necessity of accountability for such actions. In a video statement, he demanded that all content creators remove defamatory videos from their channels within 48 hours or face consequences.
The Movie Artistes Association has already taken significant disciplinary measures, terminating five YouTube channels that had been disseminating inappropriate content. These channels received warnings on the X platform, with MAA making it clear that this is only the beginning of their crackdown on such behavior.
MAA’s official X handle posted a firm message: “The crackdown has begun. Five YouTube channels have been terminated for posting derogatory comments about actors, their families, and personal attacks. This is just the start. We will continue to update the list as we take further action.”
The terminated channels include: Just Watch BBC, Trolls Raja, Bachina Lalith, Hyderabad Kurradu and xyzeditz007.

The industry’s strong response has been widely praised, with many supporting MAA’s efforts to uphold respect and dignity in the digital space. However, the prevalence of channels that engage in defamatory commentary about actors and actresses remains a concern. It remains to be seen whether this crackdown will extend to other similar channels that are still operating.
