Actor Vishnu Manchu has officially revealed that his highly anticipated film Kannappa is set to hit theaters in December 2024. On July 18, Manchu took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce the release window, stating, “December 2024 #Kannappa #HarHarMahadev (sic).”
Kannappa is a grand mythological fantasy directed by Mukesh Kumar and is currently nearing completion. The film, which tells the story of a devoted follower of Hindu god Shiva, has already created a buzz in the film industry. The teaser, first showcased at the Cannes Film Festival in May, garnered significant attention and was officially released in India on June 14, receiving a warm reception from audiences. The film features a star-studded cast, including Mohan Babu, Sarathkumar, Mukesh Rishi, Brahmanandam, Madhoo and Preity Mukhundan. It also includes special appearances by Prabhas, Akshay Kumar, Mohanlal and Kajal Aggarwal.
Vishnu Manchu, who also penned the screenplay, has collaborated with Paruchuri Gopala Krishna, Eshwar Reddy, G. Nageswara Reddy and Thota Prasad for the film’s production. The film’s music, composed by Mani Sharma and Stephen Devasi, is expected to further enhance its epic narrative.
The film was shot in New Zealand, adding a unique visual flair to its mythological storytelling.
Produced by Ava Entertainment and 24 Frames Factory, Kannappa is poised to be a major release in December, with the official date to be confirmed in the coming months.
