Dheeraj Mogilineni addresses challenges faced for Peka Medalu

At the pre-release event for Peka Medalu, producer Dheeraj Mogilineni shared his concerns about the difficulties faced by small films in the current market. Despite the ticket prices being set at Rs 100, he noted the challenges in releasing smaller films and emphasised the need for support from the industry.
The film, which is set to release on July 19, has garnered significant backing from prominent figures such as Rana Daggubati, Adivi Sesh and Viswak Sen. Produced by Rakesh Varre and coming from Crazy Ants Productions, Peka Medalu features Vinod Kishan as the lead and Anusha Krishna as the heroine, with direction by Nilagiri Maamilla. The film focuses on women’s empowerment and has received positive feedback from special shows in Vizag and Vijayawada.
Dheeraj Mogilineni, who is also distributing the film, expressed his appreciation for the support and outlined his promotional strategies. He stated, “I believe this film has the potential to resonate strongly with audiences if given the right exposure. The challenge lies in attracting viewers to smaller films, especially when ticket prices are higher. To make it accessible, we’ve set ticket prices at Rs100 and planned paid premieres in multiple cities, including Vijayawada, Vizag, and Hyderabad, with tickets priced at Rs 50. The positive response from those who have seen the film so far gives me confidence that it will be well-received.” Director Nilagiri Maamilla also thanked the media for their support and described the positive response to the paid premieres as a promising sign. “I’m very confident about the film’s success and grateful to Dheeraj for his support in bringing it to audiences. I hope the film will be loved by the viewers.”
