The GHMC officials are on alert in the wake of heavy rains lashing the city and are taking all necessary measures to ensure that the people do not suffer. In view of the warning issued by the IMD, monsoon emergency teams and static teams have been deployed across the city to remove stagnant water from Friday night and Saturday morning. Constant monitoring is being carried out by the officials.
Meanwhile, GHMC Commissioner Amrapali Kata inspected area around Citra Dargah.
Officials from all departments are working in coordination to ensure smooth flow of traffic. The Meteorological Department has been issuing alerts to the city regularly. Tight security arrangements are being made to avoid any untoward incidents.
According to the GHMC Commissioner, a total of 238 static and 154 monsoon emergency teams were formed to clear stagnant water at the water logging points at regular intervals to avoid inconvenience to the people during the monsoon season. Additionally, 30 Hydra teams and 29 CRMP teams are continuously clearing stagnant water at the water logging points in the field.
