The LB Nagar Special operations Team (SOT) in coordination with Saroornagar and Medipally police on Saturday arrested two interstate drug peddlers and seized 38 grams of heroin from them.
Two other accused have been absconding. The arrested were identified as Ramesh Kumar (23) a rapido driver; Mahadev Ram (25), a rapido driver; Vikram Goel and Dinesh Kalyan all of them are natives of Rajasthan.
Ramesh and Mahadev came to Hyderabad in 2022 and joined Rapido service. The two brothers and their roommate Vikram were addicted to heroin. Since their income was insufficient, they decided to take to drug peddling.
They bought heroin from Rajasthan at Rs 6,000 per gram and sold it to consumers in Hyderabad at Rs 12,000. Mahadev visited Rajasthan and bought 30 grams of heroin from Dinesh. On July 15 Vikram visited Rajasthan for some work and asked the brothers to sell the drug to consumers.
They packaged the heroin in two envelopes each containing 1 gram (total 2 grams) and one zip pouch containing 28 grams. Apart from heroin, the police seized a weighing machine, a bike, two mobile phones and 10 empty envelops from the accused.
In another case, Medipally police arrested the accused identified as Dinesh Kumar and seized 10 grams of heroin from him. Kumar is native of Jalore district of Rajasthan State, he came to Hyderabad in the year 2013, he worked as a welder. He came in contact with Kalyan and indulged in drug trade.
Later, Dinesh shifted his base to Rajasthan and operated from there. Kalyan motivated Dinesh to sell drugs and he offered to pay Rs. 500 per gram for every delivery. This continued for six months. On July 19, the police nabbed Dinesh and seized a two wheeler, one mobile and a weighing machine from Dinesh.
