Says satisfaction of people his primary goal
The new Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) Commissioner, HM Dhyanachandra, assumed office on Thursday.
Addressing the media later, he said that his primary goal is to ensure the satisfaction of the people. Also, he said he will give top priority to maintaining sanitation in the city. He said no citizen in all 64 divisions should face any inconvenience due to the poor maintenance of sanitation.
Further, he assured that he would strive to supply safe drinking water to the people. He would supervise and monitor the drinking water pipeline leakages in the side drains. Additionally, he said the VMC would take care of the usage of water by sewage treatment to improve it. Also, he spoke about reducing pollution by increasing the greenery in the city. It will in turn help people lead a healthy life, he added.
Meanwhile, he made it clear that the VMC is taking necessary steps to implement the projects from the State and Central governments. He would monitor the currently implemented schemes in the city after conducting a review with officials.
Later, Commissioner Dhyanachandra met Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi on a courtesy call. VMC officials met the new Commissioner.
Soon after taking charge as Commissioner, Dhyanachandra visited the Anna Canteen that is getting ready to be inaugurated at Dharna Chowk near the Alankar Theater in the city. He asked the officials concerned to provide all necessary facilities in the canteen.
