Telangana State Narcotics Bureau (TG-NAB) officials and Mailardevpally Police arrested four persons on charge of involving in illegal drug trade. Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted a raid at a house in Mailardevpally.
The arrested were identified as Salman Shah (27) from Jogeshwari, Mumbai, Mohammed Ateeq (35), a resident of Friends Colony in Mailardevpally; Rizwan Ali (37) from Paramount Hills, Tolichowki, Hyderabad, and Mohammed Yaseen (38) from Charminar, Hyderabad.
The raid, which took place at 2.40 pm led to the seizure of 90 grams of MDMA (commonly known as ecstasy drug) and four mobile phones. According to the police, the accused were found consuming MDMA mixed with pan masala at the time of the raid.
Salman Shah, hailing from Mumbai, allegedly came to Hyderabad to deliver 50 grams of MDMA to Mohammed Ateeq. Rizwan Ali reportedly facilitated Salman Shah’s transportation to Ateeq’s house, where Ateeq and Mohammed Yaseen were waiting. The joint team of TG-NAB and Mailardevpally Police apprehended the suspects and recorded their confessions, the officials.
Further investigation revealed that Ateeq, Ali, and Yaseen frequently purchased drugs from Salman Shah and other peddlers, identified as Shahid from Santa Cruz, Mumbai, Wajid from Mumbai, Neetha from Goregaon, Mumbai, Abrar from Hafeez Baba Nagar, Hyderabad, Naser from Shalibanda, Hyderabad, and Mohd Sameer alias Baba from Attapur, Hyderabad. These individuals are currently absconding.
A case has been registered under Section 8(c), 22(c), 27(a), 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. The arrested suspects have been remanded in judicial custody and will be produced before the Hon’ble court.
The Mailardevpally Police, in coordination with TS-NAB, continue their efforts to track down the absconding accused and curb the illegal drug trade in the region.
