Deputy Chief Minister K. Pawan Kalyan has praised the government’s decision to name welfare schemes after influential people, stating it will inspire future generations. He suggested that naming schemes after renowned scientists, academicians, and social workers would be particularly beneficial.
He extended his congratulations to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu and Minister of Education Nara Lokesh for their decision to name educational initiatives after Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, Dokka Seethamma, and Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam. The Deputy Chief Minister recalled that the previous government named all welfare schemes after the then Chief Minister.
Under the Vidyakanuka scheme, which is named after Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, school students receive uniforms, books, school bags, shoes, and socks. Dr. Radhakrishnan, who brought great honor to the teaching profession, served as the Vice Chancellor of Andhra University, the first Vice President, and the second President of India. His life serves as an inspiration to future generations.
The Deputy Chief Minister also highlighted the commendable renaming of the mid-day meals scheme after Dokka Seethamma, a generous individual known for providing food to the hungry at any time. He believes that embodying her virtues through this scheme will instil similar values in students.
Furthermore, awarding students for their talents in the name of the “Missile Man of India,” Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, will generate enthusiasm among the youth. Dr. Kalam, who overcame many challenges and achieved remarkable success as a scientist before becoming the President of India, serves as a significant inspiration to the younger generation.
By implementing schemes in the names of such dignitaries, the government ensures their legacies are remembered. The values of these great individuals will continue to guide the NDA government under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, said the Deputy Chief Minister.
