Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Amrapali Kata warned that strict action has been initiated against malls and multiplexes within GHMC limits for illegally collecting parking fees.
She noted that many malls, multiplexes and cinema theatres in the city are charging parking fees against the rules. Special teams conducted checks and found that malls were collecting parking fees from customers despite regulations stating that parking should be free with a purchase receipt.
Additionally, a theatre registered as a single screen was discovered to be showing movies on multiple screens, Amrapali added.
She also said that, inspections of food stalls revealed that some places were selling low-quality food items. Following the Commissioner’s directions, upon inspection, notices have been issued to the malls concerned and multiplexes for these irregularities.
