Bid to immolate by youth leader at BRS protest
Tension prevailed in Vemulawada town on Thursday, when a youth leader taking part in the BRS protest programme doused himself in petrol and tried to immolate himself. However, the BRS leaders intervened and preventing him from ending his life.
On Thursday, BRS protested at Korutla bus station in Vemulawada to condemn remarks passed by Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy against BRS MLA Sabita Indira Reddy on the floor of the State Legislative Assembly during the budget session of the Assembly. The BRS leaders consigned an effigy of CM to flames.
The BRS leaders condemned Revanth’s remarks against Sabita Indra Reddy stating that it was unbecoming of the CM to pass such remarks. It was atrocious on the part of Revanth Reddy to pass insinuating remarks against Sabita Indra Reddy, they said and demanded the CM to withdraw his remarks. If the CM did not withdraw the remarks, the BRS would launch massive protests, the BRS leaders warned. Tension prevailed in the town when BRS leader Mylaram Ramu tried to immolate himself by dousing in petrol. However, the BRS leaders prevented him from taking the extreme step.
Town CI Veera Prasad along with his reinforcements dispersed the protestors.
