Collector calls for sensitising people against use of plastic

District Collector Satya Sarada on Tuesday planted saplings at ZP High School premises in Yellanda village under Wardhannapeta mandal as part of the five-day Swachhadanam-Poachha danam programme of the state government and appealed to the officials and people at large to make the cleanliness and greenery development drive a grand success.
She addressed the students on the adverse impact of plastics. She called for sensitising people on the adverse impact in the use of plastics.
She advised the people to keep their surroundings hygienic to prevent spread of epidemics. She suggested planting more saplings to improve greenery and nurse them carefully to promote green cover.
Later, she took part in the shramdan rendered by villagers.
Earlier, she paid floral tributes to Prof K Jayashankar in connection with the latter’s birth anniversary at a celebration held at the ZP High school in the village along with the students.
ZP CEO Ramireddy, RWS SE Venkatrama Reddy, district panchayuat Raj engineer Ijjagiri, MPDO Venkata Ramana, teachers and students took part in the event.
