Must read

The Minister for Water Resources, Nimmala Ramanaidu, has stated that the major reservoirs in the State are filled with ample water. The government is planning to supply Krishna water to fulfil the irrigation and drinking water needs in the Rayalaseema districts through the Srisailam Right Canal, Handri-Neeva, and KC Canal from the Pothireddipadu Head Regulator.
Addressing the media at his chamber at the Secretariat at Velagapudi on Tuesday, the Minister said that the government is aiming to fill all reservoirs in the State with floodwater by not discharging them into the sea. For that, they have given clear instructions to all departmental officers, he said.
He mentioned that steps are being taken to provide irrigation water to the Krishna Delta through the canals. To address the shortage of irrigation water, he recommended that farmers advance the paddy plantation in the
Delta in the current Kharif season.
